Migraine is a severe condition in which the patient feels intense pain in the head. An extreme pain developed by migraine can last for hours to days. For people, it may feel like throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation. Migraine usually affects one side of the head.

When migraine with effects of aura affects vision, the patient might see various things that don’t exist. The patient may see transparent strings of objects.

Migraine without aura is more common than with aura. According to a survey, 70% to 90% of patients never experience sensory disturbance.

According to research, there is not a single and primary cure for the migraine. Lifestyle changes can also work as a treatment for pain. However, these treatments are necessary to prevent a full-blown attack.
Common lifestyle changes that can help reduce the frequency of migraine include:

  • Getting enough sleep
  • Reducing stress
  • Drinking plenty of water
  • Avoiding certain foods
  • Regular physical exercises

Medication

Medication can also help to minimize the effects of migraine. In this condition, painkillers are widely used to reduce the pain. The doctor says that painkillers should be used in the early period of migraine rather than you allow it to develop a severe headache.

OTC (Over-the-counter) medications are effective to treat migraine pain. These medicines include:

  • Naproxen
  • Acetaminophen
  • Ibuprofen

  • Age – Migraine can develop or begin at any age.
  • Family History – If your family experiences migraines, then the chances are high that you too will have a migraine.
